A name that became a system
JBL was founded by James B. Lansing in 1946. HARMAN’s company history places the brand across recording, home listening, cinema, and live performance. The cabinets are part of the story
We frequently work with vintage JBL cabinets and equipment. We like the scale of the cabinets and the look of an exposed horn. They have a presence in a room before you even turn them on. The challenge is making that presence work with the space and getting the sound right for the people in it.
Original, restored, or reconfigured?
Those words describe different things. A refinished cabinet may retain its original components; another may use replacement drivers or a new system configuration. We’d rather tell you exactly what’s inside. A JBL cabinet with replacement drivers has its own story, and it’s worth being clear about that.
Sound and woodworking meet here
