Why we care about the woodwork.

We like wood grain, a smooth edge, and the way metal hardware sits against a natural finish. But a rack also needs to hold your gear, and a cabinet needs to work as part of a speaker system. We think about the material and the job it has to do at the same time.

Can you reach the connections? Will the deepest piece of gear fit? Is there room for ventilation? These aren’t the most photogenic parts of a build, but you’ll notice them every time you use it. We want the piece to feel good to work with as well as look good in the room.

For a studio rack, start with the equipment: capacity, depth, cable access, and ventilation requirements. For signage, start with the artwork, viewing distance, and mounting. For a speaker, begin with the room and the listening brief. Then choose the material, finish, and construction around those needs.
